Pros

Pay and benefits are decent; however, the personnel issues and the support for non-management personnel is the worst that I have ever experienced. Money and benefits are important; however, that is all Charter has to offer to its employees and depending the placement on the corporate ladder, an employee may not even have that.

Cons

The position that I had worked. could have been the sweetest job that I ever had; but, Charter being Charter, made it to be the worst job I had ever worked. The old Charter mentality and management style is still present. Outside looking in, it appears that Charter looks like it may be possibility moving forward for the better, but inside looking out, Charter is the same old wolf in sheep skin, chew you up, and spit you out, and you feel like vomit. Think long and hard before accepting a position, any doubts, don't walk, turn and run.

Pros

Depending on the team you get on the supervisor can be very helpful and supportive and so can your team. The benefits of having free cable, internet and home phone along with discounts from wireless companies. Starting pay is decent. Opportunities to shift bid for a different shift and the opportunity to have hour long lunches which is based on your performance. There is a market inside the building kind of like a convenience store. A good amount of training. Referral bonuses for referring employees who stay with the company for at least six months.

Cons

The customers are vicious sometimes and insatiable. The company will tell you to tell the customer one thing but then down the road say something to contradict it so it seems like we are lying and it upsets the customers greatly. Some of the supervisors are inexperienced and not supportive at all they are very strict and do nothing extra for their teams. Very strict attendance policy. You get reprimanded for calling out due to being sick even though you have a doctors note. Don't think you are going to get promoted for just doing your job. You have to go above and beyond all the time and even then they do not recognize it sometimes. Starting shift is 3/330-midnight and includes a shift differential. There is no pause in between calls. It is back to back and if you need to take a personal break due to a rough call or a couple rough calls you do get spoken to and told it's not okay.
