Pros

Free gold pkg triple play if you're in the footprint. Good benefits but too expensive for someone making $17.75/hr. Paid holidays. 401K matching

Cons

After training you're on your own. Low paying stressful job. Supervisors show favoritism but that happens almost everywhere. Can't transfer until you've been on job for a year. High turnover job and now I understand why. They dangle dress down days like a carrot. Business casual everyday although some people dress like they just left the club.

Pros

Free cable, home phone, & Internet Decent health, vision, & dental plan for a private company Decent 401k & stock purchase options This position is a decent start: starting pay is $15.75 an hour; $16.50 on the weekends; $17.50 an hour on overnights. You don’t need a high school diploma or college degree (do need a GED). Your birthday and performance is publicly celebrated. Overtime is available; They will pay for you to go back to school, but only for certain degree programs. 2 weeks of vacation and 32 hours of personal time per year They even celebrate MLK Day as a paid holiday...1.5 pay if you work... If you have another cable service, they will buy you out of that cable service contract. If you live in North County, Missouri, your commute time will be less than 20 minutes.....

Cons

For this job, turnover is high. Be prepare to see people coming in going in less than a year. The company will not let you rollover your vacation days or personal days at the end of the year. 2 weeks of vacation per year and 32 hours of personal time...at the end of the year....use it or lose it. You can’t transfer until you have been in this position for a year (since you are taking at least 400-500 calls a month, with people/customers complaining about their service and dumping their life problems on you, including yelling and cursing at you, transfer should be reduced to 6 months) Not for those who just graduated from college......if you happen to slip in, you are in for the shock of your life... 3 weeks...8 hour days of training needs to be revamped. But it is a paycheck for sitting in class and dozing off while the trainer is lecturing and while your classmates/coworkers are talking about what they did last night or last week episode of the Game of Thrones.

Pros

Opportunity to learn new technologies Great co-workers; very team-oriented environment Pretty good salary Very rarely need to stay after-hours

Cons

All employees must be in the office between 8 and 5, no exceptions. Not allowed to work from home under any circumstances, no flexibility on earlier or later shifts, despite the fact that there are customers in all timezones across the country. "Early Outs", i.e. letting people leave a few hours early the day before a holiday weekend, are non-existent. No casual Fridays Strict "All work, no play" mindset. Very rarely hear "good job" or "thank you" from upper managment; usually just criticism. Computers are locked down so tightly that you don't even have permission to delete shortcuts off of your desktop, and the bureaucracy you have to go through to simply install an update to an already installed application is ridiculous. Unless you have a strong telecom or cable background, don't expect to move up in the company.
