Pros

- Remote/Work from anywhere "Pros": -Unlimited PTO (AKA: How to not pay anyone time off accruals after the next round of mass layoffs/How to pay middle managers for doing even less than when they're at work)

Cons

-Disingenuous ok leadership and management - Unethical business practices including: Outdated/incorrect data used to pitch products to clients/for client monthly reporting)/Unresolved ongoing known data discrepancies affecting client retention and campaign success - Unaddressed employee well-being or communication during constant and ongoing re-orgs & acquisition/lack of transparency about direction of the company or role expectations on re-org'd teams - Lack of team or product strategy/Team feedback ignored with no follow up or acknowledgement from management -Extreme burn out across teams/Poor product performance -Outsourcing to the point of total project failures from constant delays/miscommunications/knowledge gaps/resources -Significant loss of renewed business/unaddressed complaints and feedback from clients and employees alike - Undefined/Vague performance metrics, poor coaching from management on strategy or team collaboration/improvements to process, etc - Several known instances of management retaliation and mishandled discrimination cases/Historically bad exit interviews from former employees that are never addressed or acknowledged

Upper Management in Panic Mode

Pros

Some of the people working there are extraordinary. Remote working works for most people.

Cons

Senior Management is clueless. They are not hitting their "numbers" and starting to panic. They make uninformed and irrational decisions, which can change 180º in two months. People are fleeing in droves, especially the top talent. Those left behind feel overworked and under-appreciated. Heavy recruiting in India for every type of position. Little faith in leadership.

What once was magical is now a mess

Pros

I could fill up this section with wonderful experiences prior to J2 Global's purchase and the hiring of new leadership.

Cons

The new head honcho came in over the summer telling us he was a "poop umbrella" (he said the other word of course, but keeping it PG here). What he meant was that he was going to protect us from corporate and constantly said there'd be no layoffs, but in fact, more hiring. He was instead just a poop umbrella in terms of not being a very good shield, or maybe just a liar. They had a big layoff and are outsourcing everything to India and doing bit contracts. I really feel bad for the IT pros who rely on Spiceworks to advance their careers, they are no longer cared for and what is being given to them is no longer personal, researched, or well thought out.
