Pros

- High level of autonomy and ability to control the strategy for my team. - Endless opportunities as the environment is still in a high-growth mode. I feel challenged every day in the best way and know that it comes with appropriate rewards. - Egoless environment with a high level of feedback expected all the way up and down the chain. - Leaders who are genuinely interested in supporting you in your work-life balance. Sploot really embodies "work hard, play hard" and I feel very well taken care of - but I know it's because I am putting the work in to earn that trust and flexibility. - The puppy cuddles in the office every day - how could anyone not love that!? - Awesome benefits and leadership interested in improving them all the time. The pet benefits especially have saved me so much money over my time here and I can feel great knowing that they are getting the best care possible as I trust my co-workers and their standard of medicine. - Some of the best co-workers ever. I absolutely love my team and feel the entire HQ and clinic leadership teams really excel at working together cross-functionally.

Cons

- Not a good environment if you want a standard cushy corporate job. Regardless of your level in the company, it is expected that you put your nose to the grindstone alongside your team. I think this is great, but I know it's a big turn off for some people, so if that's you, this company won't be the right fit. - Vet med is a challenging field and it comes with a lot of people who have been treated poorly at other clinics in the past, or are just suffering from (totally understandable) compassion fatigue. On the HR side, this means that myself and my team generally field a larger percentage of employees who approach us with disrespect or assumption of wrongdoing any time they need help. This can be exhausting when you genuinely want to help them, but I try to remember that this is indicative of the culture in the industry and not personal. It is, however, not for the faint of heart. If you don't have a strong resilience for this kind of thing, I would choose another field to work in or your mental health may suffer. - Compensation is extremely competitive for clinic and PPX roles (as it should be!) but on the HQ side, definitely understand that this is a start-up. While I've seen salary growth, if you come from a larger organization, you have to understand that you are trading the top-of-market pay for opportunity, experience, and ownership at this stage.

Pros

Sploot proactively supports staff and addresses issues promptly when they arise so nothing "snowballs". Great PTO and benefits.

Cons

Lots of change and moving parts since it is a new growing company, requires employees to be adaptable and maintain a positive attitude.

Pros

I enjoy my opportunity at Sploot Veterinary Care. They are a start-up which means that they are constantly trying to improve on pain points in the profession. Everyone is treated equal and the nurses seem quite happy. There is room for growth and advancement.

Cons

It has really become a quite busy hospital and with the managers constantly trying to optimize the schedule, it can be a little taxing at times, more so on the nurse staff but occasionally the doctor teams. Additionally, with them being a younger company, there are not yet benefits that encompass family or spouses
