Pros

- There is a strong focus on improving culture - They are using very new, exciting tech stack, and developers get to help choose the tools they use - Compensation seems to be market-rate - Benefits are good

Cons

- New senior leadership on the technology side has been making changes, but that seems to be settling down now - Software/product organization tool is fairly confusing - The scrum process has been getting a little muddy - Very strong personalities in senior leadership - A lot of siloing of different teams and groups within the organization - High turnover at the moment, but that is slowing down

Pros

My favorite thing about working at Spok is the people. The people here make coming to work every day enjoyable. It’s nice working with people who love what they do and care about the product that they are working on. The support at Spok is great, coming in I was learning a completely new framework and it was amazing to have support that I could fall back on and ask questions if I needed to with people who were experienced. There is a great support structure and it has helped me grow as a developer. Also, there’s a collaborative culture here that has made for a great working environment. There is an open layout which helps foster collaboration with coworkers. Work life balance is good, I’ve never felt that I needed to stay late or been asked to stay late. The hiring process, even though there were transitions going on in the company, happened in a timely matter. I was never left waiting to know about where I stood in the process, they informed me as soon as they knew. Spok was even accommodating by offering to set me up in a hotel for my interviews since I was living out of state at the time.

Cons

There isn’t much that I would change, it would be nice though to have a cafeteria in the building.

Pros

-Lots of good people -Competitive pay -Decent benefits -New technology -Casual dress code -Lots of Coffee -Free breakfast Friday

Cons

-Quite a bit of turnover but luckily plenty of amazing people still here. -All the teams are quite divided and don't interact very much, events to mingle would help company culture.
