Pros

Catered lunches, casual dress, fun sponsored work activities, and good health benefits.

Cons

Working customer service for Spokeo is tedious, most customers are very angry and it is very difficult to do the necessary steps for your quality assurance scores when you can barely get a word in edgewise with a customer. Also this place is a breeding ground for favoritism. People rarely get promoted on actual skill, it's mostly how popular they are amongst upper management. A lot of people get special treatment. For example rules would be bent for certain employees while others would be reprimanded and even fired for the same exact action. Also a lot of the upper management talks serious garbage about their employees. I heard supervisors say horrific things about co-workers.

Pros

Lunch provided every day, smart co-workers, positive environment. Departments work well but generally stick together. Fraternity environment that works hard and plays hard.

Cons

Blatant favoritism, drunk managers and upper management, ethical conflict with the company. Most work events revolve around alcohol and it creates the perfect storm for creating embarrassing and awkward situations

Pros

I loved Spokeo. I felt at home with my co-workers and I loved the flat structure, often interacting with the founders of the company. The culture is really the best you could hope for, in large part due to the awesome culture team there, particularly Rene and Nathalie. Great people. They've done so much for the people there and it's not something you can easily find elsewhere. It's not about the extravagant parties... it's about the details, the thought, the care they put into everything. This was also a great place to be able to learn about different roles and get your feet wet, learning new skills from others and growing as a professional.

Cons

The main downside is the emphasis on developers over everyone else. They're paid very well and are taken care of, but some of the other departments don't get nearly as much attention and training. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of co-workers in other departments who are more than willing to help. It's a great group of people hired. The issue comes from the founders and other people should definitely not be blamed for it. Not a big enough of a downside to think poorly of the company, but it was a factor in leaving.
