We appreciate your feedback and apologize that your experience at Spokeo was less than ideal. Just as we continually build and improve on our benefits and perks programs to offer a positive and balanced experience, we will also continue to invest in the development of our managers to support our team, customers and our mission of transparency.

Pros

The people at the Company are just the best. Spokeo teammates stay for a long time. I am new here, but a lot of my teammates have been with the Company for 5+ years. It's almost unheard of in the tech world. Spokeo has very strong values and the whole company lives and breathes those values every day. The Company rewards hard work and promotes from within. Spokeo is recognized for its DEIB efforts.

Cons

When you work from home, you miss out on free snacks and lunches. Just saying. :-)

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. It’s wonderful to hear such kind words about the Spokeo team and the core values we live by together as an organization. Our people, both new and tenured, are absolutely the most valuable part of this company. Keep an eye out for quarterly mailers from the Culture Team. There are plenty of snacks to look forward to.

Pros

There are many positives to Spokeo. The founders of the company are mostly not bad guys. They have grown the company and have made it fairly successful. Spokeo in general is not a bad place and you can get some good experience with them. Their benefits are actually really good and they will give bonuses yearly, even during bad years. PRO's: - Medical/Dental - Bi-yearly merit reviews (*read cons as well) - Yearly bonuses - Daily lunches (in office) - Monthly stipend to help with Internet for remote workers - Fly you back to CA for most staff that live out side LA for Spokeo Yearly meeting. - Holiday parties with raffles that actually give out really nice prizes. - Nice office with amenities that offer a great break from work - Pool table, Ping Pong & Foosball.

Cons

The CONS, yeah, they have them. It seems that the founders to not like to or are afraid of letting go of certain people. These are all events that have been chatted throughout the company, so there is nothing new here. Most employees know about these because we talk to each other. - One manager has so many complaints about them and targets those under him on the sly as to not draw attention. This person was not even liked by those that would be under him and other that would work with him, yet the founders thought they should be hired. - One manager that use to use their position to play mental games under the guise of 'I'm only joking'. This manager has made a few of their subordinates cry due to their "joking". This manager has also been reported as well. - One manager who was rarely around pre-covid and was found to be working a whole other full time job during Spokeo normal business hours. Basically, monetarily stealing from Spokeo an only providing a small percent of actual work. Yes, Spokeo kept this manager. - They also seem to hire grifters that sell these awesome 'goods' only to be found out to be charlatans selling a bag of empty lies. They have done this more than once and will roll out the red carpet for these people. Yeah, they (the founders) have to take it on the chin because at the end, it is their money that is going out the door. If they would just listen to people that say 'No' to these types of people they wouldn't have people running (quitting) from them. I find it strange on why Spokeo would keep such people when they seem to be causing more problems within the company than to just start over or find someone internally that can step up. I guess they are afraid of these managers for whatever reason. Your bi-annual review is based on your work. If you are a solid worker, but like to speak up about certain issues that were raised on review on July 19 ( Glassdoor review) chances are you will not get your potential. Call Center jobs suck- plain and simple. Anytime you have to deal with the public and their money is never ever an easy task. Spokeo does do extra events for the CSR side, but maybe provide other means of reducing phone fatigue.

Thank you for leaving such a detailed review. “Listen with Empathy” is one of our core values, and we always take the opportunity to listen and learn from current and former teammates. It’s great to know that the benefits and perks we offer at Spokeo are making a positive impact on workplace experience. Regarding your statement, please know that people will always be our number one priority to our managers and founders. We have leadership development programs and other training resources available for all managers and individual contributors. We also have a system in place making sure we check-in with managers, new hires, and other team members throughout the year. We are hopeful that this extra attention will help all teammates feel heard and supported while we continue to develop them, whether at the individual contributor or people manager level.
