Unfortunately people are promoted into manager roles that seem to have zero interest in learning what it means to be a good manager. For a mental health company, the lack of emotional intelligence of its leaders is pretty rich. I had a manager who seemed determined to create a negative perception of me, and found out multiple times she would talk negatively about me to peers and other teams. She also would routinely call me out in Google docs in front of other team members. It wasn't until I left the company that I learned that what I was experiencing wasn't normal, but it was too late. The damage was done. It took me a while to rebuild my confidence and realize that I am actually smart, and good at my job. I just had a manager that was committed to making me feel like I wasn't and lacked the desire and skills to develop her team.

Do not work in Care Support if you can help it. Micro management to the extreme. Points system for attendance like you're in a strict college classroom. Metrics obsessed, incredibly harmful environment to work in that robs you of any excitement or optimism you might have for this work. Also negligent behavior.
