Pros
Stamford Hospital has a Patient centered, pro-nursing environment. Our Magnet status due to be updated in 2009. We are a Planetree facility and continually strive to become more so every day.. No blame environment, senior management supportive of sharing the good, bad and ugly. Still turning a profit even in a poor economy. Planning a huge expansion/upgrade over the next 10 years. Facilities are being improved daily to better serve patients, and staff. Senior management not afraid to pay for talent. They will search high and wide to find the best fit for a job. Fair and balanced system of progressive discipline.
Cons
For me, the commute. Nursing shortage cannot be discounted as affecting pt care in a negative way. Senior management don't seem visible enough especially on off shift.
