Pros

- Very smart people, including world renowned professors - Cutting-edge research projects - Experience from Stanford is perceived well in the industry

Cons

- Too much power in the hands of research advisor, to the extent that he can keep you working for 2-3 years more than necessary to give you a Ph.D. - Limited collaboration between professors. Most of them are stars, and hence don't work well together
