Pros

- resume builder / brand - ppl are people... not corporate robots - moving to hybrid work long term (after 1.5 years of being remote)

Cons

- multiple teams doing the same work across the enterprise, no one truly owns anything = decision-making is a nightmare - at the same time, work is narrowly scoped and people only do work within their immediate sphere. there is no collective hunger or sense of urgency to go above and beyond. massive complacency. - pay is disgracefully under market

Pros

Decent benefits for part time, people are open minded and it's usually very easy to get barista shifts covered/pick up extra hours

Cons

-Corporate likes to make rules about store operations with seemingly very very little insight, if any, into what it's like during peak or even during slow times. -If you're a barista and you're good at your job, they will pressure you to become a shift. It's not worth it. -Management structure somehow passes the buck all the way down to these shift leads. It stops with them. I worked in multiple stores in 4 regions in 3 states. This is not a unique issue. It's company wide. The stress and pressure is always felt more at the bottom. Half of your baristas won't care, this is just a school/summer job, no responsibility. They'll just walk off the floor because they know grocery stores start at 13/hr. But for a shift, the stakes are obviously much higher. They do feel that pressure coming down from ASM and SM (not to say they don't feel stress; I'm just saying the weight of Starbucks Coffee Company is carried on the backs of two groups: 1) underpaid shift leads and 2) underpaid farmers.)
