Pros
Starbucks offers great benefits and perks to partners, even if you only work part time you are eligible. Obviously you get free coffee and a free food item when you work which I've really enjoyed. I appreciate that Starbucks genuinely lives up to its values of caring for partners and customers. Starbucks also ethically sources it's food and coffee. I love that their healthy food options don't sacrifice flavor - all their paninis are tasty.
Cons
Due to the customizable nature of Starbucks menu, it takes longer to make many of their drinks than a place with a smaller menu would take. Thus, lines are long and wait times are long but it's a rhythm you'll learn. The impetus to both connect with customers and get them their order and have them out the window (in the drive through) in a set amount of time is hard to achieve. The learning curve is steep for the amount of time you have to learn before being tossed into the fray. This is less relevant for quieter stores - mine is always slammed and I only work 2 days a week so it took me a long time to feel comfortable on all positions.
