Pros

Co-workers. If you can stand the work environment, it is still a decent place to get some experience. You can then take that experience somewhere where they value employees and a real work/life balance.

Cons

Too many to mention. A great company has been micromanaged to death and is suffering as a result. So many talented people have resigned due to the “factory mentality” which has taken over the company. Metrics and workforce management has replaced the importance of quality employees and employee rentention. The quality of new employees don’t hold a candle to long term employees. When you hire people unseen over the phone and reduce salaries, you get what you pay for.

Pros

Pension Awesome coworkers besides the occasional rat

Cons

-Stress -Micromanagement -Stupid daily huddles where you waste time reading stupid quotes and listening to your manager yap and go over how much work you did yesterday -A wheel call system that's on Meth, a quarter of the calls I received are misrouted and have to be sent to other departments. -Constant interruptions to what used to be a smooth day -Absence system will make you feel imprisoned. Flat tire...that's a point for being late, you have the flu, that's a point for being out. Your sister is back in the US from battling ISIS and wants to visit...oh no time off available until next February so your sister better visit on the weekend because you are the property of State Farm. -You must mark when you need to go to the bathroom, take break, lunch etc. The CIA has nothing on State farm's level of surveillance. In short, I hate this place. It's where dreams go to die.
