Pros

1) The amount you can earn is impressive if you spend enough time with the company. 2) A great deal of networking activities are offered. 3) Mentoring activities are offered in which you get to pair up with someone in upper management that works in a part of the company that you want to learn more about. 4)The 401k match is more than any company I've worked for - and they throw in profit sharing if the company does well.

Cons

Pay raises for promotions are capped at a fixed % - with few exceptions.

Pros

You will be working for a fortune 500 company. Its name speaks volume in the banking industry, particulary in Boston, MA. State Street provides great benefits to their employees.

Cons

There is alot of in house politics, especially in an entry-level position. Employees are graded upon work performance. However, favoritism does factor in, when it comes to promotion. The salary is below industry average. $32,000 a year is hard to live on in one of the most expensive cities in America. However, most employees do not stick at State Street for too long, some see it as a stepping stone to other opportunities. The ones that do stay are not the creme of the crop.
