Pros

I moved to Steampunk at the end of '21. I had multiple offers and some of which were higher in salary. Reason for accepting the Steampunk offer: The interview process was straightforward and timely. The panel interview allowed me to meet most of the team I would work with and gave me an excellent opportunity to judge my fit within Steampunk. Since being hired, my initial thoughts on the teams and work remain. Good people, good work, and outstanding work/life balance. It's easy nowadays to get a job offer; the difficult part is finding a company that values you, has worthwhile work, and has genuine people that are great to work with and be around.

Cons

None that I can think of at this moment.

Pros

I've worked as a project manager with government contract companies for over 10 years. Normally, the company would only send you an email after a particular milestone is achieved, thanking you for your effort. And once the project is complete they would move you like a misplaced box. My experience at Steampunk has been VASTLY different. I entered the company with massive support from the complete team, from leadership to intern. It felt like a joint effort from the very beginning with a heavy acknowledgment that they believe you are an integral part of their overall success. That positive energy and support at the ready helped me through the more mundane parts of the job that can be disheartening at times. But this is not a singular approach, they communicate throughout the company and give kudos to several employees companywide several times a week. And although I have yet to be recognized on that platform, I have been pulled to the side by the leadership team and told how much my efforts have made a difference. They speak in great detail to let me know that they know how much of an effort it actually is on my part. That recognition goes a long way when so many other companies only see you as a number. I would highly recommend this company as a choice of employment if you thrive in a work environment that recognizes and awards your work. And being that it is employee-owned company, there are various ways to get stock in the company as you reach new achievements.

Cons

When you visit the studio, you will easily notice diversity is not a strong suit for Steampunk. This is something that I have noted and discussed with the company; however, to their strength, the leadership team acknowledges this truth and accepts accountability. I am glad to say that it is nothing the leadership team hides away from and are in fact taking active efforts to change.
