Pros

Working there gave me an unique opportunity to learn about the inner-workings of the stock market. It also gave me an inside look at corporate sexism.

Cons

There are no women on the Stifel executive team to date. The company did not provide me with opportunities to advance, but male counterparts were offered training for advancement often.

it's an evolving industry, with increased regulatory challenges and fee compression. Expect future consolidation and moves to 'commoditize' the the advisory business.
