Pros

Get lots of exercise as you Run away fast.

Cons

Meetings pack the day. Make employees pay for parking, $10 a day for the garage, $70 a month forever thereafter. Senior developers socially treated like children. Breaks are monitored and discouraged. Closely watched environment. Terrible on boarding process, you are left on your own. "Agile" environment, is another word for, "work faster change more often, why aren't you done yet?".

Pros

Good work-life balance, as the place clears out around 4:30 or so. The occasional trip to a baseball game is nice. Great support for technology. Generally there was no issue with spending some money for solid tools.

Cons

Absolutely no software development lifecycle. Complicating that are moving targets and incredible scope creep, as well as the occasional rebooted project. The pay is below standard, and the benefits are pretty chintzy. The total benefit/salary package is well below industry average. People are promoted within despite not having the right experience to actually lead. Nice, well-meaning people, but not really qualified for actual leadership. A lot of leadership has been there FOREVER, and are deeply entrenched in the old way of doing things. It would be nearly impossible for someone to, say, convert them over to AGILE. Buy-in from department management would be nearly impossible... or if a proper SDLC actually was implemented, it would get stomped all over.
