Pros

Being able to work from your computer

Cons

This may be long - longer than a note. What intrigued me about Stitch Fix was being able to help clients around the country build their confidence and branch outside of their comfort zone with their style. Along with that, the company offered flexibility as a benefit - even stating that on their website as one of the reasons as to "why you'll love working at Stitch Fix". I sit here today, after working for the company for over a literal handful of years, and find myself asking - why I am I still here if none of this exists anymore. A company either prioritizes their employees, clients or stockholders. Sadly over the past few years, it has become clear that Stitch Fix's top priority is the stockholders however they will pose it to not be. If it was the clients - we would have what the client's are asking for, providing them with the styles and clothes that they are are seeking, fun and exciting pieces, something refreshing. If it was the employees - we would be treating everyone from the warehouse to stylists to people at HQ with respect, holding them in high regard, with integrity, valuing them and investing in them. If it is the stockholders - we would be caring about the bottom line, the profit and low costs to run the company. And that is exactly what has happened. It is only a matter of time before the clients realize they are getting the same flower or striped printed top, in a different color, each month. Or how the company posts such beautiful ads but somehow, the client never sees these pieces. It is only a matter of time before the employees realize how mistreated they are, how things are constantly changing, hurting the role, without notice and how they are taken for granted. Once you lose the employees and the clients - you lose the company. As a stylist, there are a few things that are shocking. The lack of inventory but the told to make it work, take on the challenge feedback I get. I cannot do my job if I do not have the materials. It is starting to hurt my heart to send what I am to clients but it is all we have. The other shocking thing is when I was told there are no raises. The "we hired you for your expertise" feedback I was given. Wow. Yes, I have worked in fashion for many years and have been a stylists before Stitch Fix however, the company is constantly adding and changing the role, which is exciting, however they compensate their employees. It leaves me speechless.

Pros

Loved the freedom to work remotely, really enjoyed developing relationships with my clients and hone my personal styling skills

Cons

The company blindsided all CA stylists with notice of a lay off via Zoom meeting that many of us missed. Complete let down. Even my leads were blindsided.

Pros

Flexible hours, working from home, fun work (when actually supported by inventory)

Cons

The company does not practice the values that it preaches. They recently made a decision to layoff 1,400 employees in the middle of a pandemic so they can hire cheaper labor in other regions. It also has been almost impossible to do our jobs lately due to the state of inventory. Meanwhile, employees (who are about to lose their jobs) are being told to "be creative" with their styling.
