Pros

Flexible schedules and the work can actually be fun

Cons

Despite the long list I’m about to write, I actually enjoy this job. Toxic positivity is rampant. I bought into it at first when they preached their core values of being bright, kind, and motivated by challenge. In reality, that translates to not allowing any negativity whatsoever. There’s no room to move up and the inventory has been awful for years. It doesn’t match what’s advertised and often times even basic items are unavailable. They say they care, but in times of 0 inventory they tell you to “be creative” and keep the same rigid expectations. We are not allowed to be honest with clients about it and instead leave them upset, as we stylists get in trouble for it. Not to mention that there’s almost no room to move up or get raises and they laid off hundreds of employees for cheaper labor. While drastically fluctuating hours are okay in my current situation, this can not be relied on as an only job. It is only workable for people who have the privilege of not knowing what your pay will be week to week. Also, hiring seems to really favor white people, although they preach diversity. It is not a reliable job for a majority of people

Pros

Work from home (almost all positions in this field are though)

Cons

Where to begin... just like what all other reviews have said Stitch Fix will work you till you question your sanity. Before taking this job, I looked at reviews and thought "I've never had any issues working hard so I'll be the exception" don't make my mistake. No one will be the exception. Leadership doesn't care about anyone and it's SO toxic. If you're sick, or become ill they will ask you to "not let it happen again"- even with the best attendance. It really says a ton about the company when not a single person leaves and wishes they stayed. The best advice I received in my years here is when you leave don't ever look back. I just want to help spare anyone I can from taking a position in client experience here. It hasn't changed in years and still as I'm writing this remains the same. Don't waste your time- sure the pay is a few dollars more then other support positions in Austin but it comes at a price and I can assure you the price is not worth it. The turnover rate is extremely high so every week you'll have a renewed fear for job security. Leadership expects and then takes action off their own twisted personal 'worst case scenario' then asks questions later. They say they are transparent but they are not. Life is too short to work for a company that thrives off employees who are so comfortable being uncomfortable they just end up staying until they are terminated.
