Pros

- Good health insurance coverage and low cost dental - Free snacks, drinks, (beer and wine on tap!) - Building Gym access - Sample sales and clothing discounts - Overall nice attitudes from people when walking around the office - Good office location downtown near the Muni/Bart station and many lunch options nearby - Free lunch on Tuesdays - Unlimited PTO

Cons

Management - Inexperienced mid level management who struggle with communication and motivating direct reports - Lack of clear expectations and direction, they pride themselves on being able to work in ambiguity and expect others to operate the same way - Lack of transparency and poor communication sometimes causes confusion Training -Poor training materials, sometimes outdated and inaccurate. The training materials are ad-hoc and created by others who aren't at the company or in that role/team anymore. -Your training is heavily reliant on your manager's abilities Development - Though it is great they encourage self learning and development, the company is not very proactive at offering training sessions to learn skills outside of your scope of work -They do offer leadership and feedback trainings but they are highly skewed to instill the Stitch Fix culture - No formal performance review system. They only have something called collect and reflect which involves you getting open ended feedback in the form of question and answer and then you giving your manager open ended feedback on their performance face to face which is extremely uncomfortable. There is no clear goals for these sessions - No performance based compensation and no structure on how promotions are reviewed and awarded. This is likely a big reason for employee turnover since there is no motivation to stay for more than 1-2 years. People & Culture - High turnover of experienced employees. No communication around strategy for this issue. - Everyone is overall nice, but it can get cliquey and has a very high school kind of feel to the way people interact. - There is little opportunity for cross team interaction. Many of the teams work in silos and have no idea what the other teams are working on. -People at the company don't speak up about issues they are unhappy about -They have a tiny pulse survey that is a question sent out periodically about your experience at work but it is unclear whether they are used for any actionable changes Tools and Systems - Are constantly breaking and data is sometimes inaccurate causing you to not be able to do work or have to spend extra time checking for accuracy. - Tools and systems are mostly built internally and not very intuitive / confusing UX design. You need to rely heavily on your team while learning Other - Cannot contribute to 401k until after 1 year, with no matching. I honestly would rather have a 401k over the free snacks. - The company seems like a great stepping stone for someone early in their career but I do not see it as a place to stay long term

Pros

Remote work that’s literally it

Cons

I’ve been here for years and it has been downhill since I started. I used to be able to work anywhere between 15-29 hours a week. I always outperformed and styled really efficiently, never received anything but empty praise for my years of good work. Things have been gradually getting worse but took a complete nosedive this week with new expectations that will force out the majority of their staff with two weeks notice. I am disgusted by their actions.

Pros

Can schedule which days you work (however, see cons for why this doesn't always happen)

Cons

Just raised our Fixes to almost 5 per hour, when most stylists aren't even taking their legally required breaks at the current rate. I often clock out to quickly use the restroom because I don't want to get behind on Fixes. Basically no promotional opportunities. No longer offers full-time styling positions and cut our one benefit (sick time hours). HQ is completely disconnected from the reality that the majority of the company (stylists, warehouse workers, and CX) face. Pretend that they value feedback, when it's obvious none of it is taken into consideration. Supposedly you can make your own hours, but since inventory is regularly low you frequently have to adjust your schedule or work at inconvenient times. Dinged on metrics for things completely out of your control. They act like they're doing us some favor by allowing us to work remotely when they are the ones thriving off of the benefits of having thousands of remote workers. Stylists, CX, and the warehouses really need a union or some kind of legal representation ASAP, or it's only going to continue to get worse. This company's greed is out of control.
