Pros

Flexible schedule, you don't ever have to go anywhere because meetings are online. Somewhat creative outlet in the form of style and note writing.

Cons

I got denied a raise due to low metrics even though I was told my low metrics were okay due to inventory conditions. Terrible to work more than the required hours because it is so tedious. You only get paid for the actual time your a productive- clock out for bathroom breaks and any time spent away from your computer so a 5-hour shift feels like an 8-hour day. Metrics are kept regardless of the conditions of inventory or varying time needed outside of styling. Hard questions are hardly ever actually answered and goal requirements rise without a rise in pay. Lots of fake talks about loving everyone and feeling connected in a remote position. No commission on sales so there is no reason to go above and beyond. Oh also, no opportunity for advancement and if I were you, I wouldn't want to advance anyway. Finally, the pieces are pretty low quality and highly priced. Everything is polyester and still $50-$100 for a top.

Pros

Truly is work from home so no commute, can make your own schedule

Cons

No support to stylists. Consistently having inventory shortages but not trying to remediate it and still putting pressure on stylists to perform. Everyone (management, leads) fake acknowledges the problem but ignore stylists’ pleads for help. No raises or advancement opportunities. Expected to perform at high level but no commission even if your stats are very good (clients bought a lot, consistent positive feedback, styled the require 4.25 clients per hour consistently). Same clothes every season, very rarely new cuts pop up. Social media marketing not aligned with actual inventory, leading to certain expectations from clients. When their boxes don’t look like what’s advertised, stylists are to blame and are not allowed to tell clients the real reason that we truly don’t offer what’s marketed (basically it’s false advertising).

Pros

-Make your own hours -Competitive starting pay -Visually stimulating -Form great connections with clients -Positive communication between lead and stylists

Cons

-Work off the clock A LOT between reading and answering emails, staying up to date with company news, reading client feedback, and escalating client issues in order to stay within quota -The overly positive communication can come off as fake or ingenuine at times -Working remotely can get lonely -Isn't a lot of room for "alternative girls"; i.e., if you weren't in a sorority/ have a husband + baby/ talk in upspeak a lot/ aren't into bougie things it feels like you don't fit in. -When inventory is low, it's incredibly frustrating to style
