Pros

work from home, that's literally it

Cons

Poor pay, unrealistic expectations (for the pay), disingenuine company culture, poorly planned and executed changes to styling platform. This job sounded like it was going to be a dream during the hiring and training process. The reality is so far removed from what you're initially presented with. Every bad review on the styling position is 100% accurate. The only reason I've held onto this job is because I'm a stay-at-home mom and it allows me to have an income while I raise my baby. If Stitch Fix didn't exploit our current economic climate and the difficult financial situation that many new parents find themselves in, I don't think that their styling teams would be nearly so robust. The higher-ups in this company are true money-grubbers.

Pros

Working from home is the best! In the beginning, it feels easy to get the hang of!

Cons

After awhile, you realize it’s set up for you to have to work off the clock or your metrics will suffer. They claim you can do non-styling, answer and read emails, do training modules that occasionally pop up, and read the Thread all within an hour of time and then style for 14 hours a set amount of Fixes when there’s limited inventory that’s bad quality They use your metrics as a way to ensure you don’t work and make more money while asking you to do the most for a part-time job that’s a second thought for most workers, and below average pay

Pros

Work remotely and schedule own hours

Cons

Pay scale is based on the city you live in, not your region. For example - if you live in a not so great part of Los Angeles you will be paid less than a stylist living in Beverly Hills regardless of merit, skill or experience. Stylists get graded on how much your client bought and the average value they paid. So if you get clients who are on a budget and can only buy one item per box, you get in trouble. Inventory to choose from is consistently low due to poor planning of the buyers in HQ. But the stylists are the ones who get in trouble when a client doesn’t like what you sent them. Prices are advertised as being anywhere from $25 up to $200 or more. However I have never seen anything priced at $25 so the lower price point clients get upset. The leads are very robotic. No matter what you say to them they reply with "thanks for sharing." It's odd and creepy. There is no authenticity there. Absolutely ZERO growth. HQ has 100s of talented people working in part time roles yet they have no idea who is working for them and what they are missing. Product is very expensive and low quality. It's rarely on-trend or Seasonally relevant.
