Pros

Great benefits. Lots of opportunity for stretching yourself and for growth, if work is your only time commitment.

Cons

Lots of processes, lots of pivoting between projects. I think the experience may be different for someone advanced in their career or just out of college, but as some in the middle of their career journey, it feels impossible to get ahead, or even stay at pace. Growth is expected, but there’s no one to help you learn how to grow if that’s something that wasn’t a priority at previous employers. Imposter syndrome is widespread.

Pros

Good coworkers that are supportive and intelligent. Not too many ORM

Cons

Bad managers and too much politics. Not much actual work being done. Just peacocking about who can write more docs.

Pros

Glass door is making me fill this out to see reviews for another job. Stripe had smart people and a product that was obviously doing well.

Cons

Very little work-life balance. Software engineers do a lot of product management because of how complex the product is. Product leadership is poor - they'll regularly throw 400 people at a project only to kill it a year later.
