Pros

Compensation is better than most. Generous time off policy. In addition to all the standard time off such as holidays, vacation, sick and personal time, Suffolk gives employees their birthday and 5 extra days off between Memorial Day and Labor day. The time off allows me to spend more time with my kids.

Cons

Some of the operating procedures are tedious.

Pros

Driven to be the best and willing to do what it takes to get there. Strong focus on technology. Wants to provide good work/life balance.

Cons

Implements new technology without providing support or strong process to utilize that technology. Limited transparency with most people finding out about major changes several weeks after it happened

Pros

Some of the largest and most interesting projects in Boston, as well as numerous opportunities to work on different kinds of projects.

Cons

Love meetings...meeting after meeting about the meeting to discuss the meeting. Pay is average, benefits are above average but that changed within the past year. They tend to wait to change until they see enough people leave. Very few opportunities for advancement unless you're a go-to drinking buddy. Politics are above and beyond and superiors don't remember where you work, your job, or what you even did there...only if you made it to a golf outing. Sit on SOPs and if you don't do it the way the veterans on the job want, you're doing it wrong...even if 10 years of experience and schooling taught you otherwise...it's wrong. Period. Don't question, just do. Most benefits they show off are for office staff only...and not PM office staff, but marketing, accounting, HR, etc. Very few benefits for PM and field staff (supers, safety, etc.).
