Pros

Pay is reasonable, stellar medical benefits Safe working environment Advancement opportunities Ability to learn new things on the job and off

Cons

Culture on each unit depends on the manager. Sometimes upper management is tone deaf to the workers. Its all about the bottom line and the mighty dollar. Staff feel like they do not count. Gave raises but then took away annual 401K end of year contributions. Really? Staff are not stupid, we can put two and two together to come up with four. That makes you look cheap.

Pros

There is good commradere between fellow co-workers. Opportunity for personal and professional development exist. Pay was adequate, benefits were fair.

Cons

No raises in over four years. In a contraction mode right now due to changes in reimbursement. Tends to overextend itself and then panic at the cost of employee careers.

Pros

Got along well with coworkers and boss Decent hourly wage for the work I was doing (college student) Time and a half pay when you worked holidays Paid time off and paid vacation time Steady, consistent hours, MUCH better than my previous job! Excellent benefits for even the lowest paid employees Partial tuition reimbursement depending on your major

Cons

Working 2 holidays a year and one weekend a month Hard to take classes if you're a working student like I am I was hired as part time but more often than not worked full time hours due to high turnover rates in my department and short staffing (janitorial staff) Working around sick people VERY strict rules about calling off sick, being late, nitpicky staff. Can be quick to reprimand even if circumstances are unavoidable. Some nights busier than others depending on how many patients are discharged
