This has been a great experience so far. The management has been responsive at all levels, they visit the site almost everyday to check on us and make we are ok. They make sure our training is going ok also. Don't believe I've seen that before anywhere. I am treated with respect and kindness. If there is an opening you better jump on it.

Pros

Sunstates Security is very family oriented and really cares about all employees. The support is phenomenal! This is the best of them company I've worked for in the past 15 years in the business! As Mr. Burell says, it's an upside down pyramid. The support staff including upper management supports exist to support like those on the front lines. It's about giving quality service to our customers not the quantity of customers we can gain. I am loyal and dedicated to the client that I've been with for 8+ years, but I have now found a company that I can be loyal and dedicated to also. When someone cares about me, it's easy to care abou them in return.

Cons

Pay increases are rare, but it's not uncommon in the security industry. It's all contract based and customers have budgets too! Insurance for hourly non- supervisory employees is terrible. It's more of a preventive plan with a discount Rx program rather than true medical coverage. The better the coverage the more expensive it becomes for both the company and the employees, so it's probably that the client is trying to keep the cost down for the employees.

I worked for them for almost 2 years and, unlike other companies, they really do care about their employees. They also have good benefits and really encourage training and education.
