SDC okay place to work

Pros

Best thing about SDC is the work from home aspect of things. There are some benefits like medical, vision and dental. I also love the stock purchase plan. Lots of internal advancement positions available.

Cons

No pay raise ever no matter how long or how good of employee you are. They have a bonus that is based on metrics but unfortunately a lot of that is uncontrollable and you have to be top 15. The biggest contract is Comcast so expected to deal with back to back calls all day from other departments that either do not know what they are doing or just do not care and just want to dump the customer. Company policy seems to vary from supervisor to supervisor. Your schedule is not fix and can be changed at any point in time based on needs of the company. The change is based on metrics. Anytime your power or internet goes down they take away your paid time off. The reliability of the tools needed to complete the job are spotty at best. When there are not enough agents to cover the shifts they blame the agents for not meeting adherence.

As we continue to evolve, so does our compensation structure. We have long been an employer who has a pay for performance philosophy. We have recently begun a pilot program which allows the individual employee to control his/her compensation rate by their performance and attendance. We are very excited to present this new program to our employees! Regarding schedules, we are very open about the need to be flexible, however, we always provide a minimum of a two week notice before a schedule is changed. We have several options available to our employees regarding schedule changes, such as a unique shift auction process and the ability to trade with other employees. We continue to develop new ways for our employees to find the schedule that works best for them while also supporting our ever-changing business requirements. Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share with us!

Pros

Work from home is nice.

Cons

Low pay, supporting 4 different products for the one major client. Being tier 1 and 2. Constant threat of a ‘talk’ with management or hr for the most trivial things. Ton of archaic tools must be installed on your own pc.

We realize that it can be difficult to hear that certain policies may jeopardize your employment, however, as a responsible employer we it owe it to our employees to be open with our policy guidelines. Attendance in training is our number one concern, and generally the area our new employees seems to struggle. We do require that you be there every day on time so that as a class you can move forward in a productive environment. Thank you for your feedback. We all have room to improve, and all feedback is reviewed and listened to.
