Job Security Without Advancement

Pros

Job security is quite high and the organization offers occasional training opportunities and field development training. Organizational environment and culture are fairly stable, supportive and best suited for autonomous, disciplined workers. Overtime encouraged and fairly compensated. Fair benefits package.

Cons

In many behavioral health departments, expectations can be unrealistic and bloated. Office politics can impact work performance and even managements' morals, which can cause stress. This organization does a very poor job at recognizing employees' efforts, encouraging hard work and compensating for above/beyond efforts. Raises are unpredictable and have nothing to do with quality/quantity of work. Annual reviews are a joke and are demeaning.

Pros

Everyone works extremely well together through the good and the bad. Never met a staff who could put up with each other and the clients so well.

Cons

Supervisor's were sometimes difficult to handle only because they couldn't keep track of where I was most of the time which led to several miscommunications. (There are 4 units that I worked in.)
