Pros

Lots of overtime in the Winter. 2/3 to about half of the shift you'll be on break.

Cons

Summer time brings in lots of new people, so almost no overtime. Managers pick out their favorites and make it very obvious to everyone. 10 cents yearly raise based on absolute perfect attendance. Very limited time off approvals unless you are a manager favorite.

Pros

- It pays relatively well compared to the other entry level jobs - Can truly help you develop as a professional if you take the opportunities it gives - You can rise quickly

Cons

- For the work you do, once you climb up in the ranks a little, you don't get paid nearly enough. As someone who is in charge of making sure the airplane was properly in balance for its take off, I would get paid $2 more than a check-in counter person. - Once you get to a certain level you'll plateau - It can get routine and boring

Pros

Come in on time, get the job done to 100% satisfaction, and nothing else matters. If you have no other choice and no experience but willing to work, you'll get in and you'd be very appreciative to have this opportunity and not eating out of garbage cans in the street.

Cons

No schedule flexibility. You're locked into your schedule from the beginning to the end whether you like it or not and nothing you say will effect this unless the rare exception that a worker resigns. Equipment is very old and dangerous, some equipment can literally catch fire and still be driven a few minutes later. Favoritism goes to the laziest and/or unethical workers. These people get away with certain things a normal worker wouldn't, like a great schedule, and leaving early without clocking out while getting paid for their full shift. There aren't consequences for not doing the job to satisfaction or making big mistakes like a good worker would, therefore making it unfair for the hard workers that are always giving over 100% on the job. Always short on staff. You're trained by the manager and In the class to do certain things, this tactic is strictly to prevent lawsuits. You bring up a hazard that you were taught during training or by your manager to anybody including the manager that trained you and slapped you with contracts to sign stating these certain situations are dangerous, you get laughed at. 40 hours of Paid sick leave is a state law here, but you don't get it no matter what happens. Instead you can get written up for your attendance if you don't bring in a doctor's note. Or happen to get sick on or around a weekend or holiday. Every issue you have about the company is always a personal problem in managements standpoint. That's their silent slogan for you. 75% of the time you see management, it's to sign a waiver or some type of contract to avoid liability, and then you wind up finding yourself in the same exact situation anyway a few minutes later. There were never uniforms handed to me no matter how many times I asked because of the countless clothes that got ripped and replaced, and somehow me and everyone that didn't get any uniforms handed were written up.
