Pros

Great coworkers and managers. Welcoming, inclusive and feedback-oriented culture. You can make a good amount of money. Lots of "give back" initiatives to local communities they operate in. Remote work opportunities. Ambitious and transparent goals. We provide a truly valuable service to our clients.

Cons

Not really a con, but management is in the process of implementing a new performance measurement system. It'll be really useful in the long run, but there are some kinks to iron out in the meantime. Also wish we had access to 401k contributions sooner.

Pros

I’ve worked at Swoon for 5+ years, and overall have been very happy with my time there. I feel lucky to have trust from my superiors, which took time and effort to earn – these are not automatically given in the workplace. We have a great leadership team that cares so much for their employees and their success and well-being. The leadership team is challenged daily with keeping Swoon moving forward and that sometimes means having to make difficult decisions regarding organizational structure, client support, employee performance goals, etc. I’ve been lucky to have some great mentors, leaders, and colleagues over those 5 years who have shared their knowledge. I’ve done my best to take what I’ve learned from their shared experience and from working through my own challenges with their guidance to get to the position I’m in today. I have the mindset that if you work harder, apply what you learn daily to your next task, collaborate with others, take initiative to self-educate, and work hard (yes, I said it twice), then you will find success at Swoon. Swoon, and the staffing industry, in general, are not a place you can step into and expect to coast by and have success – you need to work at it. Same can be said of learning and playing a sport. You can’t just step into the batter’s box and expect to be able to hit a home run. The employees at Swoon who put in the extra effort, go the extra mile, and have success are recognized, and we celebrate their successes with recognition, commission payouts, and the potential to move up in their careers.

Cons

This industry is a roller coaster. Enjoy the ride.

Pros

**I didn’t come from the staffing industry** Let me start off by saying they really pull you in with all the perks. Causal dress, laid back work environment, training and friendly employees. Swoon when I was hired in summer of 2019 paid for all my benefits which was apart of my salary which not to mention was a pretty great base with the possibility to make great compensation checks.

Cons

What they don’t tell you when your hired is that the training is aggressive. Maybe at most 2 weeks long and once you learn it your out on your own. Do or die. This became apparent when I continued to struggle and be lost with no direction. I had a manager who was a first time manager. She was nice, very successful and well liked within the company but didn’t know how to manage at the time. They continued to tell me what I was doing wrong but then wouldn’t take the extra time to help me correct what was wrong. I got so far down the wrong direction I was “let go” after just 7 weeks of being hired. Basically thrown into it expecting to just know everything about staffing. It’s hours and hours on the phone. Calling hiring managers (the job of a major account manager) trying to set meetings. Was never fully taught how to accomplish. Was always was told “we shouldn’t be calling these people, but we’re going to anyway.” Which was a red flag to me but it must work for some. The open office environment can be loud at times but they do have some smaller rooms for a more quiet place to work.

Thank you for your feedback. Our industry is tough, and we demand top performance from our team members. We ensure that this is made very clear during the hiring process and provide continuous real time feedback regarding expectations and performance. Feedback is a two-way street, and we appreciate when our employees share what we do right, and where we can improve; as nobody is perfect. However, I was personally present in several catch-ups between yourself, your lead, and the sales director. The challenges you were facing were discussed, a game plan for 1:1 training with several senior team members was set, tools & resources were presented, and meetings were set with myself to ensure you felt supported and knew Swoon was committed to your success. Our industry can be extremely challenging; and requires innovation, perseverance, and determination. However, the reward when finding success is great – especially when you find someone their dream job and fill a complex role for one of our clients.
