Pros

I was fortunate to have a manager that gave me as much rope as I needed throughout the years. So long as I was productive to our end goal, I was able to work on the projects I wanted to work on. The culture here is VERY friendly and inviting. There weren't many bad apples while I was working at Syntech. The owner very obviously cares a lot about all of the employees. They work hard to give people bonuses and raises. It seems they want to lift everyone else up with them and are available to talk with you at any time. In my years there, I saw at least five different interns get hired on with full-time jobs, which is also pretty awesome.

Cons

I don't have much of any cons. Maybe more comp time for overtime worked. I did work many hours over the standard 40 a week at times and didn't receive much time off for those hours worked. But all of the other places I've worked have been the same, so such is life in IT.

Pros

Management and owners take great care of their employees through bonuses, generous pay raises, gifts at 5, 10, 15 and 20 year milestones, and lots of other amazing perks.

Cons

Building location is on a not-so-great part of town but at least it's not out of town. And the owners are constantly improving the building interior and exterior. You can tell there's pride here.

Pros

Great health care benefits. Doug (the owner) is a nice person. So of the employees are great, you can make lifelong friendships. The company Christmas party is always a good time.

Cons

No competitive pay, LOW pay raises (maybe 2%)... if any. Very low, overall employee morale. If you have issues do not look to HR to help resolve them. This company will turn the other cheek on issues: racial, ethical, sexual and more. If you are a person of color RUN, you will NOT feel welcome for long. (from what I observed with others) The white ‘Good ol boy’ system rules here. Management doesn't know how to manage for the most part. They all need training.

Thank you for the positive acknowledgements - 1) YES, we have GREAT healthcare benefits. 2) YES, Doug Dunlap is an extremely intelligent, kind, and generous man. 3) YES, we employ awesome people (smart, honest, dependable, kind) where great friendships are formed. 4) Our Christmas party rocks!! This is yet another effort from ownership to reward employees and they go ALL OUT for us and our guests. Regarding your "Cons" - 1) Our pay is actually very competitive and employees receive annual raises and/or bonuses for which we are grateful. 2) Promotions are based on consistent high performance, positive attitude, and great work ethic regardless of age, gender, race, etc. 3) Our retention rate is above average and we receive positive comments and feedback on a daily basis from employees - not what one would expect based on your comments above about HR and "very low, overall employee morale". Despite our differences in opinion, we do thank you for your 8+ years of service and commitment to Syntech and we sincerely wish you much happiness and success in your future endeavors.
