Does not require technical expertise as vendors and contractors do all the technically difficult tasks If you have a family, and want a good work life balance, you can definitely achieve that depending on the specific team you're in Benefits aren't terrible

Cons

Politics and favoritism around promotions Promotions & Compensation are very low Average Promotion results in ~5-8% salary increase Internal Equity Compensation is way out of alignment Won't pick up marketable skills on the job, will need to study in your free time to extract marketable skills Base Pay is very low and non-competitive for the market Total Cash is low Long Term Incentives are low, but provided

Pros

T-Mobile offers excellent and affordable benefits, as well as top-of-the-industry compensation, including stock options and annual stock grants. More than its competitors, T-Mobile is known for its ability to retain talent, and has many long-tenured and highly experienced engineers on staff.

Cons

The organizational culture is highly mechanistic, and individual contributors have little authority to determine the direction of projects. Leadership determines what should be done, management determines who should do it, and engineers are only left to figure how it can be accomplished. This minimizes the ability of individuals to have a substantial impact on business operations.
