Happily, when necessary we can often move employees to new projects. But the reality is that, like most companies in our industry, some of our clients require a lot of flexibility in staffing decisions. We work to staff our projects with the highest qualified staff, to help our government clients push America forward. Regarding growth potential: we are mainly able to offer new opportunities to our employees as a consequence of growing demands in our projects, and that doesn’t always happen when we’d prefer! In the past year, however, we’ve had more inter-project transfers than ever before -- around 15% of the company! -- as a direct consequence of our growth.
Regarding raises: we are guessing you weren’t at TCG long enough to experience the annual raise evaluation process. Again, we’re limited in our ability to offer raises by having to live within prevailing contract rates. Regardless, we work hard to retain our employees, as our industry-beating retention numbers show. Staff wouldn’t stay with us very long if we didn’t have a process for raises or changes in role.
We do provide a PC on a set schedule for people who need them for work and work from home (and are not provided a laptop by their client). If you did not get one, and you believe you should have, we certainly hope you notified your manager. Over the last several years we received no such reports.
Nobody should be screaming at anyone. We have difficulty imagining such an event, from family or not, but if it were to happen we hope you’d bring it up with our Human Resources group. That’s always the first place to go when you are uncomfortable with any work situation, and we would welcome a report from you on this topic even now that you’ve left TCG.
Thank you for your review, and best of luck in the future.
