Pros

I really like working with the people. Teammates are always willing to help out and work towards common goals. Management actually cares about the employees. Benefits are great. Lots of quirky things, for example cash for pet adoption (and benefits for baby adoption too!), sneaker reimbursement if you walk to the office, free national park memberships. All the usual benefits as well, like good health insurance . Pay feels fair and work-life balance is enforced by limiting the work week to 40 hours. I really do feel good about management. They are transparent about how things are going and treat all the employees like people at all times, even when things get tough. They share plans for the future with everyone. Since TCG is a contracting company most projects are contracted for about 5 years - so from time to time people know they need to switch teams. Having a plan and visibility into the internals of the company really adds a lot of stability. As a tech person I also really like the ability to move around between projects over the course of my career. This helps keep my skills fresh. TCG seeks out 'good' projects that have real world benefit. They are a certified B-Corp (Benefit Corporation) which is worth looking up if you are considering employment here.

Cons

Many, but not all, TCG employees are 100% telework and have been for years before Covid. If you are looking for an active in-person social life connected to work you won't find that here. Don't get me wrong, the people are great and friendly, you just aren't going to go out for drinks after hours because you all live in different states.

Pros

The past 10 years have flown by and I have really enjoyed my time at TCG so far. I hope I am here for another 10! TCG has been a place to use my skills and do the work that I am passionate about, which is helping people. I love jumping in and taking on tasks and learning new things and TCG has provided me that and so much more. I feel appreciated here and I know that my ideas are taken into consideration. Being remote has been wonderful, I am able to be home and support my loved ones when necessary. Family is truly valued at TCG. There are many perks including tickets to events and being able to get together with other TCGers with similar interests at our monthly TCG Sprees. I have recommended a couple of my friends and family to come work here and would do it again! TCG's values are one of the main reasons why I am so proud to work here.

Cons

A con of working at TCG would only be if you wanted to work at an actual office. We are remote and perhaps that is not for everyone.

Pros

First of all, the interview process was very good. It was somewhat backwards compared to my past interviews, because my first talk with TCG was about what TCG is offering me, instead of a technical screen. Following this was a culture interview (still non-technical), finally followed by a technical exercise & review with an engineer. None of this was particularly exhausting or nerve wracking, felt much more like a conversation and not a negotiation. The benefits are frankly put insane: 401k, healthcare, vacation policy, etc are all above average if not the best I've had (in my experience) HR & the Happiness team are extremely helpful. The employees come from very diverse backgrounds leading to many perspectives, interests and view on the world. Also the CEO Dan Turner is very cool and friendly, and has a deep love for Science Fiction & Fantasy

Cons

Can't really think of anything. I suppose that if you want to avoid federal contracting then they may not be a good fit, but that's not really a problem

We’re glad you enjoy working at TCG! And thank you for sharing your experience with others. We love a flattering review and we really appreciate the time you took. It's important to us to make sure the interview process is right for our candidates; to that end, if you have suggestions for how to improve it please let our Recruiting team know! Or talk to Happiness or your manager or really anyone. Your recent experience is invaluable to improving our processes. Which sounds like corporate-speak gibberish but we mean it sincerely.
