      Pros

      The people you work with make the place. TIAA-CREF had great employees, very professional, always willing to step up to their challenges and performing their duties.

      Cons

      No one knew the direction the company was going causing much apprehension. No one knew where there postion was going or even if they would remain with the company.

      Pros

      Depending on your position, compensation and benefits may be better than most in the financial services industry.

      Cons

      TIAA CREF is the dinosaur of the financial services industry, and is destined to go extinct like the rest of the dinosaurs. Fidelity and Vanguard, the Velociraptors of the industry, are devouring TIAA CREF to the bone. Every aspect of corporate culture at TIAA CREF resembles that of a government-run operation. Mediocrity and ineptitude are the hallmarks of TIAA CREF. Seething discontent is palpable among most everyone you meet. Best not sell your soul to the Devil for a paycheck!

      great benefits, vacation time, learned a lot about annuities / retirement accounts

      Cons

      poor communication between departments, the service/operations is poor, no follow up to the clients on issues, if you're in the call center you're tied to the phone
