Pros

All of the coworkers make you feel like you're family, and *some* of the managers treat you like one of their own. Customers are always friendly and understanding Great rewards to employees for doing their job (signing up customers for the in-store credit-card, getting compliments on customer reviews, handing a cart to customers, and just going the distance for everyone).

Cons

10% off isn't that much, and an occasional 20% off on certain weekends (maybe 2 or 3 out of the year). 50%-70% of the employees are all under 21 years old. We had a lot of employees call out/no show several times for immature reasons (going to the mall, hanging out with friends, etc) and would lie to management. They wanted the money, but did not want to work for it.

Pros

Rewarding Good Values Great Management and culture Great place to get started in high school/early college to learn customer service and leadership

Cons

Tenure means nothing here. Getting paid the same as new employees after working for the company for years was upsetting and disappointing.

Pros

Hours are pretty flexible and management is usually good about last minute schedule changes. Good pay considering it’s customer service, and there are raises every year based on an evaluation of your work. Managers are very active within the departments they oversee. 20% off weekends

Cons

The worst issue with this company is the favoritism from management. Managers give hours out like candy to the people they like then tell everyone else that they’re over budget and can only give out the minimum. New employees are promoted to full time coordinators quickly if they kiss up to management. Meanwhile associates who have worked at the store for longer are passed over for promotion. Also returning employees who have not worked with the company for a significant amount of time can start where they left off, even if working in a coordinator position. It's just not fair to anyone else hoping to advance in the company. The reward system is a joke. A JOKE. The cashiers receive REACH cards more than any other department because there are constantly coordinators around them to offer them praise for doing basic things, so when it’s time to draw a name from the pile of REACH cards for the monthly raffle, it’s almost always a cashier. Almost all the front end coordinators at my store are close friends and they always write up cards for each other for pointless things, and managers don't seem to notice or don't care. Managers will offer advice and basic instruction to those working in the departments they oversee, but that’s about as useful as they get. If you ask them to do just about anything else you can pretty much guarantee it won’t be done even if they agree to it. Poor communication to employees by management, when a policy changes they tell a couple people and expect word to get around. I worked early morning shifts for about 8 months before I ever attended a “monthly” morning meeting. There is no teamwork within the store, employees are constantly trying to get each other in trouble to get in good with the managers or earn a reward. THERE IS NO CONFIDENTIALITY WITH MANAGERS! If you go to them with an issue don't expect it to remain a private conversation. They don't just tell the other managers, they tell other associates too.
