Pros

Possible chance to work with latest semiconductor technology. Maybe some liberty to choose what you work on. Good work-life balance.

Cons

Management at this remote & separate TSMC division is poor and overly political. Decisions are slow to come and most times politically driven. Parent company (TSMC-Taiwan) imposes heavy restrictions on tech info access among employees which makes job difficult and limits ability to succeed and advance. Information restrictions are used by management & other politicians to serve own personal agendas. Company in general is not interested in input from low level employees, this company is very heriarchical even at this US location. Rewards are not based on merits but rather politics. Parent company penny pinches everything which makes getting anything from the smallest tools to software or hardware often a long and futile process. There is no local or even US based HR serving this center and this is abused by management.

Pros

Pay is competitive compared to others

Cons

This company is an absolute cess pool of OSHA violations, employee rights violations and labor law violations. I worked here for over five years and was subjected to more situations than I can even count that violate every one of these things. If you speak out on OSHA violations, management will retaliate against you and build a case to fire you. I was literally told by my lead to perform preventative maintenance in Semiconductor tool chambers, which are highly toxic without proper respirators and PPE. Not only is this illegal on numerous levels, but it will also impact my health in the future. Anyone who has any experience in the Semiconductor industry as an Equipment technician will know this. This company preys on people who have zero experience in the industry, because they know that they won't know enough about OSHA laws pertaining to their job to hold the company accountable. This company is literally killing its own employees for profits. They have not only had numerous deaths on site, but they are also in the midst of countless class action lawsuits due to unsafe work practices, as well as discrimination. They will hire anyone with no experience because it's easier to convince them to perform duties and jobs that violate the law.
