At TSMC, we care about the wellbeing of our employees and are committed to cultivating a healthy and productive workplace environment. We're disappointed to hear that has not been your experience. We provide multiple channels for employees to report concerns and protect persons making reports or participating in investigations from retaliation. We encourage you to share your experience through our “open door” policy, speak directly with the Human Resources representative assigned to your department, or the “Ombudsman System” tool, which can be found within the Employee Voice Channels page. We encourage you to reach out through any of these channels so that we can have a better understanding of your experience.

Pros

Vacation training in Taiwan for minimum 3 months.

Cons

Everything is bad here including the pay. Discriminating against everyone who isn’t Chinese or doesn’t speak Chinese. Most of the TW engineers don’t really know how to do their jobs so they rely on US counterparts heavily.

TSMC is deeply committed to workplace safety in all our facilities, along with each of our active construction projects, including TSMC Arizona. We take allegations of unsafe working conditions very seriously. To ensure we're constantly operating with the highest safety standards in mind, we have a voluntary partner safety agreement with the Arizona Department of Safety and Health (ADOSH). We are also regularly audited against known safety standards by ADOSH. Additionally, we conduct our own internal audits of safety records against state and national figures. In Arizona, our recordable safety incident rate is nearly 80% lower than state and national construction industry averages. We have had zero work-related fatalities, and any such incidents would be reported and investigated by ADOSH. These allegations are concerning and we invite you to contact p_tad@tsmc.com to provide more details.

Pros

The salary is not bad and the company is the leading one in the semiconductor industry.

Cons

TSMC's lack of ethical practices is deeply concerning. The company's focus on profit and efficiency often comes at the expense of ethical considerations and social responsibility. There have been reports of labor rights violations and poor working conditions in TSMC's supply chain. The company's failure to address these issues raises questions about its commitment to fair and ethical business practices. Furthermore, TSMC's environmental impact has also come under scrutiny. The company's manufacturing processes and waste management practices have raised concerns about pollution and sustainability. The absence of a strong ethical framework and accountability measures undermines the trust and confidence that employees and stakeholders place in the company. In conclusion, TSMC's lack of ethical practices is a significant drawback. If you value a workplace that prioritizes ethical conduct and social responsibility, I would recommend exploring other options.
