Pros

I had a fantastic manager and a positive working relationship with coworkers. Open PTO and decent benefits. In many ways, this company felt like a family.

Cons

My pay was decent but in speaking to coworkers, not everybody could say the same. The first 11 months with TSP was really good and I expected to be there a while. Then, on a Monday afternoon, I was advised that my position was being eliminated and my last day would be four days later on Friday. There was no forewarning or anything to cushion my landing. This is where open PTO proved problematic. Because you don't accrue PTO, there is no time banked to be paid out when leaving the company. In the end, I get *why* my position was eliminated but the *how* of it left a very sour taste. Four days of notice and absolutely nothing to help until I could find another job.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us, as well as the Glassdoor community at large, your thoughts on your experiences. We made the switch an open PTO policy a number of years ago. Through market research and through sentiments of our employees, we found that having an open PTO policy offers our employees a great deal more flexibility, boosts morale and increases retention rates, ensures our employees don't need to bank days simply to take a vacation (we strongly encourage our employees to take vacations, disconnect and recharge for their mental health), and especially during the height of the pandemic it ensured that no one was forced to work while sick — that same sentiment carries on now. We respect the anonymity that this platform provides, and consequently I cannot speak to the manner of your departure from the company. When an employee is brought onboard for a contract role, we try our very best to either extend the contract or to find full-time employment for those individuals. When we're unable to do so, then unfortunately the contract ends. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors, and thank you again for your insight.
