Pros

The employees really band together and take care of each other.

Cons

Tampa General is a "good ol' boys" club. Where the women do the work and the men get promoted. Even the women who do make it to management end up doing 5X the work of any man. Burn out is high, unfairness of pay is rampant, and HR supports the executive management and not the employee.

Pros

Good environment for learning. My department allows for very flexible scheduling. I guess it would look good on a resume to a future employer.

Cons

Pay is not competitive with other bay area hospitals. Cafeteria and other areas are always dirty. Patients and visitors ignore the no smoking signs and smoke everywhere.

Pros

TGH really tries to take care of employees (e.g. birthday breakfast, benefits, etc..). There is no short cutting care, equipment or supplies for patients. Healthcare benefits are excellent. Lots of truly good people to work with.

Cons

Too many priorities and initiatives that make it hard to know what to focus on. More tasks keep being added without anything being removed, which contributes to staff leaving. Many in senior leadership don't truly listen to employee concerns or communicate well with employees. Lack of respect for job knowledge if you're not a nurse.
