CEO Claims it isn't cut throat... until it is

Pros

Besides having really great co-workers, there's not much more to say.

Cons

Everything. You're not given performance reviews so you don't know how well you are doing. You are only "in good graces" of the now CEO if you suck up to him. I was let go on the spot without a single warning or even an understanding of why. Again, I guess I wasn't one of the "cool kids". Benefits and salary - both terrible. You are shown very little value, even if you're doing your job successfully.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m happy to hear you had a great relationship with your colleagues while working here, but I am sorry to hear about your other experiences. We value each one of our employees equally and I’m upset to hear that you felt otherwise. We do have a Goals & Objectives plan and provide each of our People Managers with guidance, resources, and tools to have goal-setting conversations, mid-year check-ins and, year-end performance reviews with their direct reports. I am sorry to hear that you did not have these meaningful conversations with your manager. We emphasize the importance of these practices and will continue to press on it to ensure our employees are set up for success. Furthermore, a dedicated HR Business Partner is available to any of our employees for guidance and support. Our Corp HR team also conducts an exit interview with each departed employee so we can take confidential feedback and work towards positive changes for a better employee experience. To address your comments about salary and benefits, while many of our roles are commission-based, our Total Rewards department continues to assess how we can remain even more competitive. In addition to earning potential and incentivized rewards, our current benefits include mental health initiatives, paid parental leave, hybrid work options, learning and development opportunities, flexible PTO and more. We value your feedback as we continue to evolve with the direction of the workplace, and will use it to improve on our offerings in the future. - Vaishali Rathod, Chief People Officer

Pros

Created great relationships with coworkers and clients. Learned a lot about healthcare and recruitment because I asked questions and wanted to advance in my career. Good after work events to keep you sane.

Cons

Toxic environment between recruiters and account managers/execs. Basically if you’ve been with the company for over five years, you can speak to recruiters in a condescending way and partners allow it because they make the place money. It’s frowned upon to use vacation/sick days even though you’re allotted a specific amount. You’re questioned when you call out sick and expected to answer emails 24/7 and “put the time in” because it’ll make you more money. Certain people are allowed to work from home while others are forbidden.

I appreciate you taking the time to write your review. Our policies are put in place to keep the firm fair, yet we do believe in flexibility, as evidenced by our liberal Summer Friday’s, work- from-home, etc. However, the recruiting industry is sales driven and often to find success that you want, you must put in long hours in the beginning stages of your career. We take reviews and comments from staff very seriously and absolutely do not condone condescending or unprofessional behavior. Edward Fleischman, CEO, The Execu|Search Group

Pros

Can make money if you sell you completely drop everything one and everything in your personal life.

Cons

Long hours, no human element, no regard for peoples well beings or anything that is going on outside of work. Cut throat company culture which stems from the people who are in positions of power. I advise anyone who is considering making the switch to work for this company to think long and hard about what you value and what matters to you. If all you care about is making money than this is the place for you. Multiple snow storms where cities shut down, but the hire ups at TESG pressure you to risk your life and battle the elements. Most of these reviews are fabricated from people who currently work there to restore their image. Even if you work 60-70 hours a week, the expectation is that you should work more.

I am disappointed to hear the way you feel about our firm. The staffing industry is highly competitive and as a result long hours are sometimes required for one to reach their potential. We work hard to maintain a positive and inclusive company culture and the safety and well-being of our employees are our highest priority. We’ve been in business for over 33 years and have maintained a very positive culture, have strong values and a solid reputation in the market place, which we are extremely proud of . I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Edward Fleischman CEO, The Execu|Search Group
