Intern Review

Pros

There is an open line of communication between the interns and their managers. The teams are very good about integrating the interns into the workplace. The company is very flexible with time off when needed. The majority of the company is relatively young, creating a fun and inviting workplace. I definitely learned a lot about my field and gained valuable experiences. My team was always very flexible and willing to teach me whatever I wanted to know. Everything I learned was extremely useful and will definitely come in handy later down the line. The workplace is a really great environment - very enjoyable to work in.

Cons

There wasn't always a steady flow of work and expectations weren't always clear, although this was always fixed when clarification was requested. There is a bit of tedious intern work, but it definitely isn't the bulk of the work here and really isn't bad.

Great place to work for specific types of people

Pros

Casual, fun, start-up atmosphere. They have happy hours once a month, play in intramural leagues throughout the year, and offer other fun outings The people are fun to work with Room to grow if you take initiative to ask for more responsibilities Leader in tech and development in the political space

Cons

Extremely long hours during the election season, with no overtime pay. If you're looking for a 9-5, this is not for you. No vacation allowed during election season, however they are very flexible with vacation time during off season. Compensation is low for the industry, especially in the DMV Somewhat of a communication problem across multiple departments If you aren't politically conservative, you may want to look elsewhere. You likely won't be considered for hire and even if you are, you will not be treated the same way as other employees.

Great Casual Evironment

Pros

Relaxed but demanding office environment. You have a lot of room to grow but it will not be easy and must put in the time and effort.

Cons

There tends to be an overall lack of organization company wide which has a lot to do with the nature of being so centered on campaign cycles. The company has also gone through many different changes structurally which can be hard to follow.
