Pros

- Legacy brand recognition - some great engineers still remaining

Cons

- corporate culture is one of cost cutting not innovation - corporate parent Danaher not willing to fund research investments so CEO is cutting employee raises to hire more people - middle manager blindly filling out DBS forms to hang on to their jobs - declining benefits with premiums that have increased almost 38% over the same period where wages have not even grown by 6%

Pros

Most the people here are great, everyone in my team has 20-30 years experience while a few are about 3-5 years. Lots to learn from a bunch of great experts.

Cons

Danaher. They suck us dry with organic growth and money. Never want to invest in the core company, the people. Everyone is always complaining about the executives being so out of touch from the customers and standard employees. Amir about drove this company into the ground.

Pros

+ Great people to work with. + Great place to work if you are unemployed or young (i.e. cheap) and need some experience in a data and process driven environment. + Everyone gets a chance to be a Jr. Data Analyst. + Good training ground to work for a competitor + Good place to work if you have or want experience in a low end distribution centered business.

Cons

- Culture is now a Danaher "OpCo" culture - just like Fluke; understaffed and overstretched - Internally focused on bowler metrics and countermeasures to address GAPs to stretch plans - Stock awards only to Director level and above = no retention plans for below Director level - Growth is only through acquisition (not organic product development) - Low tolerance for investment-intensive lumpy businesses - Key management jobs sourced externally - other OpCos or competitors - Frequent medical plan supplier changes that affect your network providers - 120 day payment terms make it very difficult to work with external suppliers. Some local vendors won't work with Tektronix. - Annual layoffs in Oct-Nov right before the holidays. Beware if you have more than 15 years with the company.
