Pros

Initial pay rate was good and co-workers were great (most worked with the company for 20+ years)

Cons

After Tektronix got bought out by Danaher the company quality went down hill. Lots of cutbacks every year (less staff/more work/pay cuts/furlough weeks on multiply years and multiply years of "you worked hard but we don't have the money for raises this year"). When Fortive split from Danaher things got worse for IT. With the lack of management direction it was a difficult place to work.

Pros

- Ample opportunities to grow and evolve into a well rounded professional both within Tek as well in broader FTV - Inspiring vision and strong intent to transform the company at leadership level - One of the most people centric company on the planet: employees are at the center of all major decisions. Management has been making sincere efforts to promote transparency, diversity and elevate employee engagement across levels - Culture: incredibly smart and talented yet humble professionals. Very collaborative culture. Leadership puts strong emphasis on #One Team spirit as a competitive advantage. This reinforces firm’s commitment to promote collaboration across teams

Cons

- Dynamism: it’s a very dynamic organization. Things change rapidly. One hand it keeps the excitement going and create a lot of new roles and opportunities, it might throw off some people who have strong inertia to change and want things to be more static and predictable - Legacy : With 75 years legacy, infusing change and driving transformation requires patience and sustainment commitment. Changing the perspective of veterans at the company can at times be challenging and it might feel that things are not moving as fast as they could - Financial pressures as with any public company: Tek is part of FTV. This has many advantages for Tek. But it also has its own set of challenges - accountability to shareholders and addressing concerns of wall street. For the folks who do not have complete visibility, it might seem that company heavily weighted towards short term measures to deliver financials and not taking a long term view
