Pros

I am happy to work somewhere where the main concern is helping as many people as possible, not profit. I feel fulfilled when I'm connected to my local community and this job gives me a chance to do this while also, making a living and paying my own bills. I also like that they offer a 401k and decent help insurance options.

Cons

You do typically have to work contract for 3 months before being hired on, full-time. At times being understaffed in certain key areas, creates headaches for newer employees to deal with. Because it is a non-profit there is a pretty high turnover rate as people get burnt out or find higher-paying jobs.

Pros

Telamon used to be a great company that ran many head starts, and migrant head starts. They worked for their employees until their CEO retired.

Cons

After the CEO retired and Susan Orozco became the CEO, all they are thinking about is money. And how they can cut corners. She makes sure that she let people go so she doesn't have to pay them, and then she gives their job for someone else to do as well as their own job so basically she makes sure she pays one person for only one job while they are doing multiple people's job. I am so glad that they lost their contract with Migrant programs.

Cons

Management acts like it’s a clique, impossible to be promoted from within. It helps if you know the people in corporate- degrees don’t matter.
