Not a very good place to work

Pros

You will get training and to go to a conference once a year and there is a chance for over seas travel, maybe. In Raleigh and Wayne, there are new office buildings. They hire younger employees. It is a company that produces lifesaving products.

Cons

The working environment is very much a cube farm with low walls and no privacy. The atmosphere is very cliquish and if you are a member of the clique you might enjoy it. There is a ridiculous amount of documentation and produced just to be able to say they have it and is never referenced again. Management makes up their minds and are not pleased to be bothered with counterpoints and details. Please don't be fooled about such phrases as "Work-Life Balance" and "We are committed to family". This only refers to the Teleflex family and not yours. Work life balance is a joke. Last, the pay for position is well below market value.

Pros

Most co-workers are very nice, knowledgeable, and work hard. Schedule is somewhat flexible even for manufacturing personnel. Additional training and education is available if you're willing to take the initiative, it's not typically offered, one has to inquire. Vacation time is accrued quickly, 4 weeks at 5 years.

Cons

Re-orgs seem to be the norm. Usually resulting in layoffs or firings. Compensation is not competitive compared to similar companies. Compensation within the company is not very fair, same positions/responsibilities can have significant differences between salaries. Tenure and experience seem to be liabilities, often the ones with the most are the first to go. Poor communication between facilities, management and employees, and between departments. Lack of leadership. Plants bicker about trivial costs instead of looking at the whole picture of the company. Upper management claims to want to attract and retain top talent, but does almost the exact opposite in practice.

Pros

High stock price if you get stock comp

Cons

The only concern of management is the stock price, which leads to short term solutions for superficial improvements like unethical accounting tactics and firing everyone to move overseas.
