Most everything. The cons trickle downhill from leadership, at the department, school, and university levels. Staff are treated terribly by faculty and leadership, not only participates but perpetuates the awful treatment by faculty. Almost no staff position is exempt from the foul treatment and nasty emails from faculty. Staff are also treated as expendable and replaceable by leadership. They forget that without the staff, the school DOES NOT RUN! The morale is very low at this place, and I wouldn't recommend anyone to apply to Fox School or Temple University. I would also advise against going here as a student, as the chaos and turmoil does filter to the students. Also, the pay is abysmal. If you don't start at the pay you would like for the next decade, then do NOT accept the position, especially if you are a woman. Temple HR does not negotiate salaries with women. Myself and all the women I work closely with, close to 20 women, were laughed at by HR when trying to negotiate our starting salaries, while our male coworkers, around 10 men, all were able to negotiate for higher salaries with little to no back and forth. Temple /Fox does not do raises, bonuses, salary bumps for cost of living increases, promotions, or reevaluations of salaries EVER. I have been here for over 8 years, pre- and post-COVID, so it is not just a COVID budget thing.
