Sorry, nothing comes to mind.

Cons

The worst form of HR and red tape within departments. Location sucks too. Btw no retirement benefits for postdocs as they are not considered staff.

Pros

Competitive stipend compared to other universities within Philadelphia.

Cons

Expect zero work-life balance. There are no regulations for vacation or sick time. Personnel are constantly leaving departments on bad terms with a trickle down effect on graduate research assistants and doctoral candidates. No enforcement of department regulations or timelines and your employment is entirely subject to the discretion of your direct supervisor despite any employment contracts with the university.

Temple is a great place if: - You value health insurance above salary - You want your kids to (eventually) attend Temple - You want to earn an advanced degree - You're looking for a more laid-back atmosphere - You're looking for a job with an excellent work/life balance

Cons

Temple is a non-profit higher education facility, so it's not great for: - Climbing the corporate ladder - Earning performance bonuses, promotions, or raises - Working on innovative products and pushing the envelope.
