Pros

Office perks, like free snacks and catered lunches, were nice Generally friendly people Good geographic location

Cons

Teams often felt very siloed, all hands meetings are meant to bring people together and even then I felt that I never knew what other teams were working on; it's a very heads down environment where I felt like I was supposed to do what I was told and that's it Many people on the ops team come from prestigious business backgrounds, which is great for growing a business, but lack a lot of basic knowledge about what Tempus is really trying to accomplish -- for a very "mission-driven" company, it seemed like not too many people actually cared about achieving the mission or even really knew what the mission is. I felt so far removed from any actual good Tempus was trying to accomplish due to the deadline driven environment

Pros

Free snacks and drinks, but not meals

Cons

The honest truth is Tempus AI (or labs or whatever they rebranded as) hates you if you're neurodiverse. Yeah, I said it because it's true. They underpay and overwork all their employees, medical degrees and PhDs alike. They always talked about the opportunity for career advancement, but never gave the opportunity. Being hardworking and punctual simply isn't enough if you don't play their stupid games. You must be fascinated with intriguing topics like the weather and sportsball to fit in with the most basic, boring people imaginable. If you don't watch reality TV, forget about your career. Because that's what matters for climbing this company's social ladder. In short, you better be: smart, hardworking, punctual, and basic af because that's the only way to have a chance at advancing at this company. I hope the billionaire owner Eric gets the wealth tax he deserves.

Pros

Environment seems nice and fun when you join with a lot of amenities, given overview of the company as a whole during onboarding, events to be inclusive

Cons

They don’t care about your career, they are solely focused on money. Handles samples poorly, work in poor conditions and hired overqualified people to pay them at a lesser rate. Job included playing cards all day when I thought it would advance my career in cancer oncology and genetic testing. Toxic and hostile work environment where coworkers are dating and talk about work drama outside of work creating weird dynamics in the workplace. RTP is a ghost office basically that CHI just bosses around while they have no idea what’s actually going on. Upper management sees wrongdoings, acknowledges it but laughs it off and lets a lot of things by pass.
