Pros

Great company purpose and benefits were okay

Cons

There is an expectation of 50-60 hour work weeks despite what you are told about "work-life balance" . Everyone is heads down without much interaction. The place is very unwelcoming . The technology management folks are distant, make poor choices, and keep their employees in the dark. Nobody there is interested in your career goals. Stay away...there are plenty of other tech companies in Chicago!

Don't Do It

Pros

The people you meet will change your life and are the best part of the job! Everyone under Upper Management is so smart and truly cares about their team. Team work is amazing and we are helping to save lives!

Cons

Upper Management will be the down fall of this company. In one week, 6 people left our team because the upper management is so awful. You care and work 18 hour days to make a difference and you are treated like children from management who can't even understand or do your job (nor do they care to learn). No one listens to your concerns and tries to make the department better, instead they hire externally and give the tiniest of raises to a team that works as the backbone for the whole company. Customer Success will always be looked down on and I recommend never committing to a job on this team if the leadership stays the same. Our direct manager was one of the 6 people to leave and she was the only reason any of us have stayed this long. Seeing how she was treated after knowing how hard she worked, has truly opened all of our eyes. Without her, I can only encourage people to stop applying and find a job that has purpose, but also where the upper management knows what they are actually doing. Customer Success is now the worst department in the whole company because they are letting people run it who have zero clue about anything.

Pros

-Great Company with a strong mission and dedication to helping cancer patients -Free snacks and decent benefits -Lots of incredibly motivated and hardworking people

Cons

This cannot be stressed enough: the junior data analyst team is incredibly mismanaged. Instead of constructive criticism, leadership chooses to yell at the team and make snide remarks. Most of the managers on this team have little to no experience in management, which makes it incredibly difficult for such a large team to work smoothly. There is blatant abuse of authority and a severe lack of communication which leads to inefficient workflow and JDA's being yelled at for mistakes made on the management side. JDA's are essentially shunned from the company and given little to no opportunity to communicate with other teams or move laterally to another department. Be wary of the job description as this position is actually a data entry position rather than data analysis. This position does not utilize any programming or analysis skills, rather it mainly involves strong verbal comprehension and the ability to fill out a blank form. There is an expectation to work more than 40 hours/week and keep track of time spent working even though this is a salaried position. Despite being told that this is a flexible 9-5 job in the interview, there is very little work/life balance. They do not make efforts to help people succeed and expect you to improve on your own. Your work is assessed on an irregular basis and little help is provided on how to improve the quality of your work. Management does not take into account the many roadblocks facing the JDA team and do not want any excuses as to why there is a dip in production sometimes. Overall the constant negative reinforcement leads to a cycle of stress and job anxiety that negatively impact work.
